Spring Media I Particularly Enjoyed & Recommend You Watch
The new Harry Styles album, obv.
It might seem weird, but these two videos are my current workout routine: Jumping Korean Kids and This Totally Buff Desert Guy. I’m going to start up jogging again in April, so that will be added to the mix too. Seems like Harry Styles has joined the running family so maybe there will be more runners out there this spring. Might be nice. Are you a runner?
Creating Cartoon Sounds with Jon Batiste! | I’m a big Jon Batiste fan, and I’m a mom, so this video was such a great find. JB is such a phenomenal musician, but he also seems to be so joyful. His crazy laugh is contagious. This is a fun video that showcases skill, collaboration, and joy all at once. Fun for adults and kids. :)
The Bibi Files | A documentary about Benjamin Netanyahu that shows his police interrogation videos made in the lead up to his corruption charges.
Do yourself a favor and re-watch Cool Runnings. It’s on Disney+.
A Glimpse of Paradise | This links to a playlist of 4 gorgeous videos on YouTube. Each video highlights the best gardens of Iran, India, Morocco, and the Middle East. It shows the historic gardens and garden design theory found in these beautiful locations. I watched the videos over the span of a few weeks and kept being drawn into the beauty. It’s a fitting video series for this month’s theme.
The Sea In Between | This is a documentary video of Josh Garrels recording a live album on an island in the Puget Sound. It’s beautiful and once again, I would love to have a benefactor. Where do they exist!? It also feels like a time capsule of peak Portland purity, when the city was clean and beautiful and hipsters were still artsy dreamers.
Explaining Blake Lively/Justin Baldoni To A Stranger | I wanted to share this with anyone who’s not followed this case. I went to high school with Justin Baldoni and although we were not friends, I’ve been team Justin this whole time. Why would you want the accusations against him to be true? No one wants that, especially from a hometown famous guy.
The Timothy Alberino interview on the American Alchemy Podcast | You may remember from last month that I read and recommended Birthright by Timothy Alberino. This podcast was a good, 5 hour summary of the book. As a girl who used to go to my church’s youth group then drive home listening to Coast 2 Coast AM, this guy is just so interesting to me and I can’t get enough.
